14h00 – 19h00 - Site Visits and Boat Cruise in Livingstone

Delegates will commute across the border to Livingstone, Zambia to meet local communities. The Healing Balm Foundation, based in Livingstone, will host 2 site visits to local communities at Dambwa Community Hall and Libuyu Community Hall.

At Dambwa Hall, delegates will interact with a group of women who will give a demonstration and showcase their sewing and dyeing work, which are their means of trade and livelihood. They will also visit a carpentry workshop run by a youth group who will showcase some of their work, as well as a group who produce reusable pads distributed in schools.

At Libuyu Hall, delegates will interact with a savings group who will demonstrate their efforts for financial wellness. They will also meet a group of women living with disabilities who will showcase the goods they produce, supporting their livelihoods.

This will be followed by a sunset boat cruise along the Zambezi River, before delegates return to Elephant Hills Resort.

19h00 - 22h00 - Celebrating the Power of Movements

Evening reception featuring social movement leaders from across Africa; stories of organizing; funding for movements; poetry and music. This evening is hosted by TrustAfrica, Wallace Global Fund and Urgent Action - Fund.
