Marwa El Daly is the Founder and Chairperson of Waqfeyat Misr Foundation, Egypt’s leading Waqf Foundation. She is also founder and chairperson of  Waqfeyat al Maadi Community Foundation (WMCF), which is the first Community Foundation in Egypt and a pioneer initiative for reviving and modernizing the Waqf / traditional endowment-model that used to be the backbone of civil society in Egypt and the Middle East for centuries. She is the first recipient of the Rockefeller and ISTR’s (International Society for Third Sector) Award as best researcher in strategic philanthropy and the Civic Sector.
