Day 5, Friday 2 August
08h00 - 08h45 - Meet and Greet Breakfast
Topic: Meet and Greet Breakfast on Movement to End Female Genital Mutilation
Room: Gwayi Room
Delegates are invited to a meet-and-greet breakfast with renowned activist and Nobel Nominee Jaha Dukureh. Jaha is the founder of Safe Hands for Girls, a nonprofit organization working to protect young women and girls at risk of female genital mutilation (FGM). The discussion will cover the status of the Pan-African movement against FGM, with a specific deep dive into The Gambia, where the country's National Assembly recently voted to reject a bill which would’ve overturned the nation's historic ban on the practice.
