Tade Aina receives the 2024 African Philanthropy Lifetime Achievement Award

The partners of the African Philanthropy Conference are delighted to announce Dr. Tade Aina as the recipient of the 2024 Lifetime Achievement Award. This distinguished honour is bestowed upon individuals who have made exceptional and enduring contributions to their field and society as a whole.

A visionary and pioneer, Tade has dedicated his life to building a world where all people can prosper. His groundbreaking work in urban poverty, governance, development theory and practice, higher education, nutrition and child development, and environment and development has revolutionised philanthropy. Aina’s unwavering commitment has inspired countless individuals and organisations across the African continent.

The Lifetime Achievement Award is the highest honour presented by the African Philanthropy Conference. It recognises individuals whose outstanding career achievements have made a profound and lasting impact on the sector, through leadership, resource mobilisation, and mentorship. One of the primary goals of the award is to celebrate the life and work of stalwarts while they are still alive. Previous recipients of this award include Akwasi Aidoo, Gerry Salole and H.E. Graça Machel – an esteemed and distinguished panel of exemplary leaders.

The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Aina at the Awards Gala Dinner hosted in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, with an esteemed audience that included previous awardees H.E. Graça Machel and Gerry Salole.
